Solar flares are bursts of electromagnetic energy that leave sun spots and impact us here on Earth. I shared about the electron build up that occurs in our atmosphere after solar flares fly our way at the speed of light (about 8 seconds of travel time). This was relatable to the lughtning forecast I shared on #WAND TV. Sometimes these occur with solar storms otherwise known as coronal mass ejections. These are magnetically charged clouds of plasma including elements that we find on the periodic table. There are a lot of connections between our weather on Earth and space weather that are being tested and theorized now.
